In Book 5 of the Harry Potter series, Umbridge confies Harry's wand on finding him tresping in her office. Hermione tells Umbridge a -and-bull story about a secret weapon to lure her into the Forbidden Forrest to be taken away by centaurs. Harry and Hermione realize that they have no way of reaching the Department of Mysteries to save Sirius without their wands. One thing leads to another and they leave the forrest on Thestrals.
