Does isopropyl alcohol work the same as methanol/ethanol?

I have this isopropyl alcohol and I was wondering if it would work for separating two things the same as methanol/ethanol. Idk where I can get ethanol but i know where to get methanol it wouldn't be too much effort but i'd rather just use this isopropyl alcohol 70% i have with me because that would be a lot easier.
