Who did Abraham Lincoln credit for freeing the slaves?

There was also the 3/5 compromise which most Democrats are clueless about. They see it as counting Black people as being worth 3/5 of a White one. But this is not true. Free Blacks were counted as equal to Whites only slaves were counted as 3/5. Counting slaves equal to free men would have INCREASED Southern representation in the House of Representatives. It would have made the South MORE powerful not less and made it that much more difficult for the abolitionists to win their struggle against slavery. What's more the South could have increased their representation in the House of Representatives at any time by outlawing slavery. They didn't do so because slavery was more important to the slavocrats running the south than representation in congress.
