Is my Dad Schizophrenic ? PLEASE HELP ME?

He has serious problems with his self esteem for one thing and he is a drinker and he suffers from depression. He is very much into philosophy and spirituality he is also obsessed with DR HORROR whom is a famous philosopher. My Dad believes that he is "enlightened " and he's some kind of a Jesus and that he is gifted . He believes that he can go into these enlightened states and pull the people in the room into his state of mind. He thinks he can affect everyone else around him in his environment. He talks to only his close family members about his "abilities" he would not dare tell a shrink because they would think he's "CRAZY" guess what he is . He also thinks that there are many people in the world that know of him and that they are out in public and he believes that they are doing things to mess with him and show him he is not important. He CRAVES fame and thinks that he derives RECOGNITION and when he does not get it he gets very depressed ,mad and angry. He also believes that "one " by U2 is written about him and "Wide awake" I believe that he is delusional he is irrational and how do you talk to someone whom is irrational and delusional. He tries so hard to convince me he is GOD . I want to scream !!!!!!! I cannot tell him he is nuts because he will cry and get mad and nasty. He also blames everyone else for everything that ever has gone wrong in his life ,he always has to be the victim .We have put him in Psych wards tons of times and he wont admit to the therapists that he thinks he is gifted so they keep letting him out and I have told them what he thinks and he still lets him out. Any advice? I cant take it anymore it's getting ridiculous he's becoming delusional again and I don't want to listen to it anymore
