What would happen if the Ozone layer disappeared?

What would be the effect on a human if the Ozone layer of Earth suddenly disappeared? I know it would expose us to mive amounts of ultra violet radiation...but what immediate effect would that have on our bodies? Would we burn up immediately or would it be slower?
